Thanks to a belter of a voice, no holds barred lyrics and endless charisma, Melbourne artist Mia Wray’s star is on a rapid rise. Her debut single “Work For Me’” was one of the most exciting in recent years, ‘blowing up’ the triple j textline and gaining widespread support from Spotify, Apple and one Elton John, who plugged the track on his Beats 1. Follow up ‘Never Gonna Be The Same’ was met to a stunning response, and was added straight to full triple j rotation and HIT National Nights. She was named as one of triple j Unearthed’s 10 Artists to Watch. Mia’s performance of the song on Sounds Better Together TV show saw the song shoot straight to #5 on the iTunes Charts. Third single ‘Needs’ coincided with Mia being nominated for Breakthrough Independent Artist of the Year at the AIR Awards.
‘Rerun’, Mia’s most recent single, solidified Mia’s position as a bold and striking new voice who writes with a confidence that mirrors her driving and immediate onstage presence, a credit illustrated by her 2021 sold-out headline East Coast tour, a sold-out four-date residency at the Northcote Social Club and a packed Corner Hotel in March.
